The 2007 RGB Christmas Light Project: Circuit Boards

7/13/07

I've ordered some sample circuit boards, which should be delivered early next week. Several weeks ago, I submitted my entire BOM and gerber file set to an Asian manufacturer I've worked with on past projects.

The pricing for circuit boards, parts and assembly came back in a surprisingly reasonable range for each pixel. So assuming everything works out with the prototype, I'll place this large production order late this month.

If you're interested in grabbing some of these, drop me a line (john AT response-box dot com) and we can talk.

Current board is 2.3" x 1.85" and designed with all through-hole components. I have a separate SMT design as well. But the pixel size is the same. The top and bottom row of LEDs are 1.5" apart.

The picture below is a .PNG. It should render in all browsers, but if you can't read it, let me know.
