The DMX Controlled iPod Poject

October 1, 2009
To start out, let's be very, very clear: this is Vaporware. It's 100% un-purchasable, currently existing only as a crafty spark in a lonely corner of our designers' imagination. However, the design has been on our back burner for a long time. To us it seems like a nifty idea.
Plus, our quick and impromptu phone survey of local corporate A/V technicians was met with comments like "Wow! I'd totally use that" and "That's awesome. Let me know when I can get one to test."
So we're moving forward.
Here's the gist:
A DMX triggering system for iPod. It will allow playback of discrete tracks, entire playlists, video files, etc. All on your iPod will be accessible in a convenient and user-friendly way. Simple user interface, using 3-6 DMX channels.
Audio will be accessible via (most likely) a pair of RCA jacks. Video will be RCA, 3-wire component, or maybe both.
Our firmware development is first focusing on the current iPhone 3G and iPod Touch, and will work backward as we gain access to those products as well.

Price? No idea. Probably somewhere in the $180 - $220 range. ETA? We're hoping for abouts a month.
